Matthew and Melissa's day at Willow Springs Garden in Wausau, Wisconsin was an absolute gorgeous day for a Friday outdoor wedding. These two have a true storybook relationship, the one you watch in movies! They met over 15 years ago, and lived just a couple houses down from each other. Her dad picked him up and brought him to school every day, they were close friends for so many years. Soon that budding friendship turned into a true love meant to last.
Details are what make weddings unique, and these two kept it as local and personal as possible. There was a blue heart on the back of Melissa's dress. It is from her late grandfather's shirt and was her something blue. She also had pictures of her dad's parents on her bouquet in a locket. The pins in her hair were from her mother. Her aunt gave them to her on her wedding day, and now she gave them to Melissa. The baby's breath came from her mother's garden. Both the beer and the wine were local to Wausau as well. A taco buffet for their guests to enjoy for dinner, heck yes!
Melissa shared that she was excited because this has been so long in the making, and all of our friends and family know it - so this is a long awaited celebration I think we were all excited for. Matt said that being able to be with the woman who I've always loved and officially be a part of the family that I've always considered to be my second home. Congratulations to you both!
